UPH Faculty of Medicine Winning 3rd Place at GIMSCO 2014

UPH Faculty of Medicine gained another achievement by reaching the 3rd place in Gadjah Mada Indonesia Medical Science Olympiad (GIMSCO) 2014 competition.

UPH Faculty of Medicine gained another achievement by reaching the 3rd place in Gadjah Mada Indonesia Medical Science Olympiad (GIMSCO) 2014 competition. UPH Faculty of Medicine sent two teams, each consisting of 2 people. The first team consisted of Rico Wicaksana Putra (07120110035) and Audie Christopher Fam (07120110039), while the second team consisted of Rini Santosa (07120120003) and Maria Felinsianita (07120120002).

 

GIMSCO “Anatomy Olympiad” which took place on 7-8 November 2014 carried the theme of “Ad Astra Per Aspera”. Participants went through four stages which were the Qualification Round as the first stage in the form of a quick answer exam; Preliminary Round as the second stage in the form of slides questions; Semifinal in the form of LCT system; and the Grand Final Round in the form of a quick answer exam, slides questions and LCT.

In the final round, Team 1 from UPH Faculty of Medicine competed with teams from Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Sultan Agung Semarang (Unissula), Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (Unlam), and Universitas Diponegoro (Undip). After going through three stages in the grand final, the competition finally ended with the results: 1st place achieved by Undip, 2nd place by Unlam, 3rd place by UPH, 1st Runner Up by UI and 2nd Runner Up by Unissula. By gaining the third place in a national competition, it shows that UPH does not lose competitiveness from public universities. (ca)
