Rector of UPH Attended the Collaboration Workshops by Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Government of Canada

Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) collaborating with the Government of Canada, held a workshop with theme “Global Trends in Actuarial Education and Professional Development” on Monday, September 26, 2016 in the meeting room of Radius Prawiro Building Bank Indonesia, Jakarta.  This workshop is a part of Project on Risk Management, Economic Sustainability, and Actuarial Science Development in Indonesia (READI Project), which was coordinated by University of Waterloo, Canada.

READI Project is an initiative with purpose to empower the insurance and pension industry in Indonesia to create a sustainable economic growth. This initiative is centered on partnership between private sector, local educational institutions, and Indonesian government agencies. It  aims to create Centers of Excellence in Actuarial at the partner universities (including UPH), to increase the number and quality of Indonesian actuarial-science graduates to address the country?s growing demand for actuaries.

This workshop was attended by Edy Setiadi – Deputy Commissioner of Non-Bank Financial Institutions Supervision OJK,   Asep Suwondo – Director of Pension & BPJS Employment Supervision OJK, Rianto Ahmadi Djojosugito – President, Society of Actuaries of Indonesia  (PAI), Collin Wilson – President, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), Craig W. Reynolds – President, Society of Actuaries (SoA),  Prof. Ken Seng Tan, University of Waterloo, Canada, William Duggan (READI Field Director, Representatives from PPPK (Pusat Pembinaan Profesi Keuangan, Indonesian Ministry of Finance). UPH Rector Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., and Rector of other universities, such as ITS, UI, UGM, ITB, IPB.
