The promotion for the 24th UPH Festival has once again been aired through Heartline 100.6FM Radio, as one of the media partners of 24th UPH Festival. In his introduction, Dina Virgy as the host of the talk show segment on August 10, 2017, at 09.00-10.00, talked about how Universitas Pelita Harapan has committed to showing its contribution for Indonesia through scholarship programs for Indonesian children, so they may receive quality education which will prepare them to become future leaders for the community and the nation.
Budhi T. Yuwono, Senior Assistant to Rector UPH as the key speaker said that it has been UPH?s commitment to contribute to the nation through education.
?UPH has always strived to provide abundant opportunities for our nation?s children in obtaining the scholarship. Especially for our fellow colleagues who want to undergo their studies to be teachers in Teachers College, and nurses in the Faculty of Nursing UPH. But then, the scholarship program is not limited to these two faculties, UPH also provides the opportunity for students who want to develop their talents in other faculties in UPH. This is our contribution to the nation so that Indonesian children from all regions in Indonesia can equip themselves to graduate from UPH, and to become leaders, who will be able to develop their hometowns. Each year, we provide 1.200 ? 1.300 seats for scholarship,? said Budhi.
According to Budhi, UPH?s willingness to contribute to the nation is tightly related with its focus that is to start its contribution with the outskirts region of Indonesia. It is also important to point out that by outskirts region means that UPH is trying to reach for almost all regions in this country, starting from the west to the east of Indonesia. Until now, the students who are receiving UPH scholarship are students from various provinces of Indonesia, which includes almost all 21 provinces of Indonesia.
?This kind of information will further be shared during the 24th UPH Festival, especially on the Scholarship Day, August 19, 2017. We want to provide the opportunity for them to obtain as much information about our scholarship program. As an example, we will share a hint: we have three categories for the scholarship which includes academic achievement, limited financial and sports achievement. I hope that both parents and prospective students are able to attend this event, to listen and to witness what we have here in UPH and take this wonderful opportunity to join us,? Budhi added.
In line with Budhi, Elisa Laksana, UPH Event and Promotion Manager, who was also present as key speaker, hopes that through this opportunity, more people will come to know UPH better, and they could be informed about the available scholarship opportunities in UPH. |
