A remarkable achievement was made by UPH Faculty of Nursing (FoN) team at NURSE FIK UI 2017 Competition that was held by Faculty of Physics Universitas Indonesia, on 13-15 October 2017 at Rumpun Ilmu Kesehatan Building, University of Indonesia, Depok. FoN UPH won the 1st place in five race categories held in this event series.

The five achievements of FoN UPH consist of the 1st Winner of Trivia Quiz which is participated by 18 teams from various universities in Indonesia. The Trivia Team, consisted of FoN UPH team consists of Roy Sony Hulu, Ria Novelia, and Surya Juniarta. In Poster Contest, Veronica Kristiasie was chosen as the most favorite poster. The competition is participated by both categories of competition that followed by 18 teams. In this competition, FoN UPH must compete with the teams from other universities who come from various regions such as UI, UGM, UNPAD, UNDIP, UNIBRAW, and others.

Achievement of FoN UPH in this event increased compared to 2015 which FoN UPH won the 1st place in Spelling Bee, 2nd champion in Speech Competition, 3rd Winner of Competition and 2nd Winner of Right Fast race. This achievement became the encouragement of FoN UPH students to continue the achievement in other competitions. For the winners, this makes them even more proud of their faculty that equips them with profound and holistic academic knowledge.

Here are some testimonies from the winners;

Roy Sony Hulu, 1st Winner of Intelligent Quiz Competition

From this competition, I become more confident and convinced that in FoN UPH we have prepared with very good knowledge yet more deeply. This is felt when dealing with the questions given in the competition that we can finish easily. Even our exam quiz in class is much more difficult. From this experience, we acknowledge that FoN UPH has an equivalent and even advanced standard curriculum than other universities. My expectation is that this achievement can be forwarded to my juniors so that they want to participate in the committee not only at the national level but also international level.

Niken Nadita, 1st Winner in photography contest

The theme of the Photo Contest is ‘Stop Bullying’. My work has the title ‘Love those who Bully’. In this photo, bully becomes the main focus. Through this photo, I invite people to love people who do the ?bullying?. This work is presented through my observations on the bully case, and how we stop a bully by building a healthy mind. We at Nursing also studied the topic of ‘Enhancing Mental Awareness’ and studied the psychological and psychological aspects of the patient. People who do bully may have problems in their souls. And this is our concern as well as the nurses. Through the work of this photo I hope that people can understand, so they do not see people from the outside. But also look at their inner conditions, like his psychiatric.

Endang Cahyan W. 1st Place at Poetry Competition

In this poetry contest, I wrote a poem entitled ‘When I have to play a role’. Based on the theme that committee set up to make a poem entitled ‘See Them by Heart’, I try to place myself as the third person who witnessed the mentally ill-treated by the people around him. I made this poem in just 1 day, but the contemplation happened long before that. I think what I make is the reflection of what a nurse should able to act in dealing with patients with mental illness.
