UPH XXXIII Graduation for the Teachers College (TC) and International Teachers College (ITC) Graduates was held on Thursday, May 31th, 2018, at 9:00-12:00 a.m. The graduates received a message to empower them in fulfilling their duties in schools under Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan (YPPH) who spread in various regions in Indonesia as well as partner schools in Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Cambodia.

To the graduates, Dr. Michael Patterson, representing Corban University, partner of ITC, delivered his message and the mission of the university, consisting of 3 pillars:

1.    Character ? One with the character has a good moral quality, is special, is committed, and also has an effective living, based on the 9 fruits of the Spirit. ?Being a person of character is a wise decision for everyone, and it also is a blessing for the people around you. I hope that you can be a blessing for the people you serve with your good character.? Michael explained.

2.    Competence ? Having the ability to conduct their function effectively and efficiently. Michael states that the graduates have been trained to be competent teachers who know a lot about their field of study. However, all of it cannot be a guarantee that when they are under immense pressure, they can go through with their work well. ?Competence needs good knowledge with the practice that cannot be conducted only once or twice, but repeatedly until it becomes a skill,? Michael explained.

3.    Christ ? the Center of all hard work.

?Always remember that God has planned big plans that you will conduct for His name. So, do not be afraid and always believe in Him.?

Dr. Michael added that they have to go out and make an impact in the lives of the people they serve through their character and competence in Jesus Christ. (nl/rh)
