Miss UPH Scholar 2010 finalists on the crowning night
Men or women were eligible to get awards at UPH Awards, but this was not the case in Miss UPH Scholar (MUS) 2010. The event was specially designed for UPH female students who have intelligence, character, and positive behavior. She will become UPH ambassador for internal and external activities, and be a blessing for the environment.
Miss UPH Scholar of course is not just a regular beauty peagant. Three criteria must be possesed by all finalists, which are beauty, brain, and behavior. As MUS 2009, Astrid Elena admitted that she gained valuable as well as challenging experiences by being MUS. “I could explore who I am, learned to be more responsible, and one thing for sure, that I understand more about the vision and mission of UPH because it had become my behaviorial guide,” she said.

Being a role model for all campus residents is absolutely not easy, but Maria Rahajeng as MUS 2010 believes that she can do it. “The crown has become the beginning of my journey as Miss UPH Scholar. I believe with the grace of God, I can run my duties as an ambassador for UPH, with true knowledge, faith in God, and Godly character,” said the woman who is usually called Ajeng. In carrying the duty as UPH ambassador, a Miss UPH Scholar should always uphold the vision and mission of this campus, that is, a holistic education which is achieved through true knowledge, faith in God, and Godly character. Later on UPH students will become future leaders of the nations that are not only intellectually smart, but also have strong faith and noble characters. Beside Ajeng, there are Juliar Suryani (Management class of 2008) as the first runner up, Priscilla Christy (International Relation class of 2009) as the second runner up, and Ristiana Eteng (Communication Science class of 2009) as Miss Congeniality.
