Visual Communication Design: Programme Advantages & Career Prospects

What Is Visual Communication Design?

Visual Communication Design (VCD) is a design discipline that studies the concepts of communication and creative expression by using visual elements to convey specific messages. The message itself is the most important element in design. Therefore, students and graduates of this programme are expected to communicate messages in ways that are engaging, informative, and impactful through their designs.

This major is open to students from both science and social studies backgrounds, but there are some basic skills you’ll need as a VCD student. First and foremost, you should have drawing skills, as much of the learning process involves creating design illustrations. You will also learn how to communicate effectively through design so that it can deliver clear messages. Aesthetic aspects of design and beauty will also be part of your studies.

Are you interested in pursuing a degree in Visual Communication Design? Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) offers a VCD programme that is well worth considering. Let’s get to know UPH’s Visual Communication Design Programme.

UPH Visual Communication Design Programme

To match the demands of the creative industry, UPH’s VCD programme also offers four specialised concentrations:
