Product Design: Program Highlights & Career Prospects

What is Product Design?

Product Design is a study programme that focuses on the science of creating products to meet society’s needs, encompassing various aspects such as innovation, user comfort, aesthetic appeal, and cost-effectiveness. Students of Product Design are required to be creative and innovative, learning to design products that combine elements of comfort, safety, and aesthetics while considering the target consumers and the intended purpose of the product.

Core Competencies of a Product Design Student

Students of Product Design develop several core competencies that are continuously honed through both theoretical and practical learning. First is basic design ability, enabling students to visually communicate through the products they design. Second is fundamental research and investigative skills to ensure the products they design meet actual needs. Additionally, Product Design students cultivate a creative, detail-oriented, innovative, diligent, and resilient character; they enjoy problem-solving and are capable of working effectively within a team.
