UPH BEM Collected Funds for Donggala-Palu.

ONE UPH FOR PALU was a movement that UPH University Student Council (BEM) held as a form of the concern for disaster victims that occurred on Friday, September 28, 2018. This concern was manifested in a fundraising event initiated by UPH BEM. This action was supported by all academics and around 30 student organizations, both student council and Student Activity Units (UKM) in ONE UPH, which are UPH Lippo Village, UPH Medan Campus, and UPH Surabaya Campus.

This activity was the first stage of fundraising that started from the 3rd to 5th October 2018. UPH BEM took a role as the coordinator who collected and distributed the funds later. Regarding the form of fundraising action, it can be submitted to each organization and faculty; it also can be in the form of direct fundraising, garage sales, or a show performance.

It was like what UPH Conservatory of Music Student Council was done with conducting a music performance at UPH Park on Tuesday, October 3, 2018. In addition, there were also fundraising activities in the form of donation boxes to classes at UPH Medan Campus and UPH Surabaya Campus.

“BEM UPH also distributed donation boxes that we placed in three places at the Building B, which were at the odd elevators, the even elevators, also at the 3rd floor. In addition, there were also voucher sales worth of Rp25,000/voucher as a donation for the victims,” said Yosua Yeremia, the Head of UPH BEM.

Total of Rp132,947,776 has been collected by 12 October. The total funds will later be channeled through Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI).

“This activity is a concrete action of the compassion that UPH students have. Not just words, but UPH students also take concrete actions to impact others,” Yosua concluded. (it)
