Good news for all prospective students who are interested in journalism. Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) and Berita Satu Media Holdings (BSMH) have collaborated in the making of a new program, the Journalism Program, for the Communication Online Learning Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UPH. This collaboration aims to prepare future journalists to be reliable and stay relevant to the rapidly changing era. In addition to that, this collaboration also provides scholarship opportunities for prospective students and a prospective career for its graduates.

This Journalism Scholarship program will start on the Academic Year of 2020/2021 in a period of three years. Through this program, students will not only obtain knowledge, but also a chance to have an internship in media managed by BSMH. Students will also have the experience of being a real journalist as they will be doing a Field Observation for two semesters. They will be directly assisted by instructors who are SMH journalists. Wow, that’s pretty interesting, right? The scholarship program registration is still open until April 20, 2020! You would not want to miss this one for sure.

There are a number of requirements for those of you who are interested in this scholarship program. First, prospective students must be in 12th grade or have graduated High School for a maximum of 1 year with an average score above 8.00 for Indonesian Language and English, and above 7.00 for Mathematics based on the report card starting from the 1st semester of 11th grade until the 1st semester of 12th grade. Then, prospective students have to submit a video that expounds their understanding of journalism, their reason for choosing and preferring this field, and the reason for UPH to choose them for this scholarship program. Aside from video, prospective scholarship grantees should also submit a short essay with politics, economics, socio-cultural, or environment as its theme.
