UPH Facilitates Students to Experience Studying in Four Continents through 'Student Mobility Program'.

In order to compete in the era of globalization, everyone must equip themselves with a global mindset and international standard competency. To prepare the students to compete globally, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) continues to expand its network of international partners and offers high-quality international programs. One of which is the Student Mobility Program (SMP), which allows UPH students to study abroad at partner universities in four continents, namely Europe, America, Australia, and Asia. Through this program, UPH is establishing its position as an international standard university that produces quality graduates with a global perspective.

During the ‘SMP Info Session’ event that was held on 6 October 2022 at UPH Lippo Village, Tangerang, Giovani Prayitno, Manager of UPH Global Partnership and International Office (GPIO), explained that SMP consists of three programs namely Student Exchange, Study Abroad, and Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA). The Student Exchange Program is intended for students who wish to do student exchange with overseas universities that are in partnership with UPH. Meanwhile, the Study Abroad Program is designed to facilitate students who wish to do student exchange to universities overseas that don’t require a special partnership with UPH. Lastly, the IISMA is an international mobility program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikburistek) which provides a full scholarship student exchange program through a highly competitive selection process. For the IISMA program specifically, UPH will assist students throughout the selection process. As many as 21 UPH students won IISMA scholarships in July 2022.

“We are pleased to see the enthusiasm of UPH students who want to participate in the student exchange program. The UPH GPIO is always keen to support the students who wish to inquire about the student exchange and IISMA programs. Registration is now open for both programs, so this is a good opportunity for students who wish to take the exchange program in the even semester to prepare themselves,” said Giovani.

Furthermore, Giovani believes that these programs will bring a lot of benefits for the student, both personally and educationally. It is a very good opportunity for students to expand their knowledge and network by meeting students from different countries. Students can also learn to adapt to new environments and learn new languages.

UPH has collaborated with more than 20 universities across four continents to offer student exchange programs, including La Trobe University (Australia), Ilmenau University of Technology (Germany), National University Singapore, Kyung Hee University (South Korea), Biola University (USA), and others. UPH will continue to support, facilitate, and provide opportunities for students to gain knowledge and improve their quality to become ‘The Next Great Achiever!’ through the student exchange program.
