The Neurosurgery Specialist Program (Sp-1) at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pelita Harapan, is a 5.5-year medical specialist education program initiated on March 11, 2021, through the UPH Faculty of Medicine’s Strategic Plan to improve equitable access to specialist education and enhance the quality of healthcare services.
Its development is based on comprehensive studies and benchmarking against various national and international neurosurgery programs, supported by the strong clinical services of the FK-UPH Department of Neurosurgery, with a core excellence in neuro-oncology. The program has obtained official authorization from the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia through Decree Number 796/B/O/2025, dated September 8, 2025. The program was officially opened and has been conducting academic activities since the beginning of 2026.
