Prof. Dian Armanto, M.Pd, M.A, M.Sc, Ph.D. – Head of Region 1 LLDIKTI, appreciated Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) Medan for its commitment in preparing its students with four important qualities: knowledge, technology application, problem solving skills and the ability to present professional alternatives, as well as responsibility. This was said by Prof. Dian during his speech in front of 382 graduates of UPH Medan during the Graduation Ceremony, November 2, 2019 at the Regale International Convention Hall.

“These four things, that have been given by UPH to the graduates, should also be followed with critical and analytical-thinking. These two things had to be balanced: the ability to evaluate and utilize a condition critically and the ability to make good choice and decision based on analytical thinking,” said Prof. Dian as he quoted Thomas J. Stanley whose saying goes by “The key to success is being honest to all people.”

During the graduation ceremony, Prof. Dian also congratulated UPH Medan for opening 10 Departments. The congratulations came with compliance and proper administration report which UPH has fulfilled as an institution.
“UPH Medan has fulfilled all the appointed procedures properly such as; university administration, availability of lecturers, aspects of student activeness and lastly, community service – based on research journals indexed by scope,” he stated.

All these things are in line with UPH’s commitment which was stated in the UPH One Policy that was established for the 2018/2019 academic year. Therefore, UPH Medan has achieved the same quality as the main campus in Lippo Village, and is now located in Region 3 of the Higher Education Service Institution or Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi (LLDIKTI). In order to improve the quality of its education, UPH Medan offers innovative programs such as international class, which uses English as its language of instruction, taxation class for corporate executives, and International Accounting Certification Program (ACCA / Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) – UPH Medan Accounting study program is the only campus in Sumatra that has been ACCA accredited.

The international standard innovative programs offered by UPH Medan has gotten a positive and enthusiastic response from parents and students. Therefore, UPH Medan will regularly present experts from Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries as guest lecturers and to give insights about the curriculum that should be implemented in the programs offered by the campus.
