UPH’s Master of Notary Graduate Received Highest Grade for 2020 PPKJN.

David Kristianto, SH., M.Kn., a graduate of Universitas Pelita Harapan’s Magister Kenotariatan (Master of Notary) program, successfully obtained the highest grade in the first batch of the 2020 PPKJN notary training program, which was organized by the Direktorat Jenderal Administrasi Hukum Umum (Directorate General Law Administration) from the Kementerian Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia (Ministry of Law and Human Rights). This achievement reflects the excellent quality of UPH’s Master of Notary program and its graduates. David echoed this sentiment as he chose to obtain both his bachelor’s degree (S1) and his master’s degree (S2) at UPH’s Faculty of Law.

“The knowledge I gained from studying law at UPH played a fundamental role in this achievement of being named the best participant of the 2020 PPKJN,” said David. David is deeply grateful for this accomplishment, especially considering that the program was carried out fully online amidst of the Covid-19 pandemic. This also means that David, along with 500 other students, has successfully completed the final stage of the academic program and can therefore obtain the official confirmation letter (SK) appointing them as notaries.

In order to become a Public Officer, UPH students are not only trained to possess technical knowledge and skills, but also integrity. This character has been cultivated and emphasized throughout his time at UPH’s Faculty of Law. As David explained, “Until today, the knowledge and principles gained through my experience taking courses in UPH’s MKn program have proven to be useful in my career.”

With these preparations, David was able to fulfill his professional role as PPAT in Cirebon, which was a challenge especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. For instance, the regulations outlined in the professional code of ethics require that meetings involving PPAT and Notary, are held in person (face-to-face) in order to maintain the dignity of the profession, and to maintain the authenticity of the deeds made.

“Even under current conditions where there is a risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus, I am committed to adhering to the professional code of ethics and following strict health protocols as dictated by the government,” said David.

Being a public official with integrity is the fundamental value of the UPH MKn program that has been embedded in its students.
