The event which was held in order to commemorate the Youth Pledge Day every October 28 was initiated by Yayasan Cipta Asa Nusantara supported by Cipta Olah Persada (COP) which aimed to the young people who want to learn Indonesian art and culture by becoming artists and cultural actors directly. Its main purpose is to knit the diversity among the younger generation.

According to Adwita, UPH Teachers College Students year 2015, who is also the Chairman of NDC UPH UKM, this opportunity is very good for the young people to preserve the culture of Indonesia.

“Indonesia has diverse cultures from Sabang to Merauke. Students in Jabodetabek who participated in this event also came from the various regions. So through this event we can get to know each other and create the network, “said Adwita.

Not only that, by studying the regional dances, Adwita also felt many other benefits such as fostering the love of the homeland, knowing more Indonesian culture, can introduce Indonesian native dances to other nations, and gain the true meaning to the people who see it.

SME NDC UPH was formed to appreciate the rich culture of Indonesia as a gift from God. But it is possible that NDC also learns dance from other countries, so far the dance that NDC dance learned are Thousand Hand dance from Thailand and dance from China.

Every member of the UKM NDC not only learns dances but also values for the love of the homeland and national unity.

“By learning the traditional dance, for me it is a form of the love to the country; to know, understand, and love the national territory, preserve and give a contribution to the progress of the nation and state, maintaining the good record of the nation and state and be proud as the nation, such as to preserve Indonesian culture in the dance field, because we know there are so many types of the Indonesia original dance, “added Adwita.
