Indonesia’s current tax system, which has adopted “self-assessment” in accordance with the Tax Legals, requires all citizens to calculate, pay, and report their income taxes as individual taxpayers (Wajib Pajak Orang Pribadi/OP). As the year 2015 begins, so it also is the time for taxpayers to prepare their annual tax return for the prior year, 2014. The deadline for submission of 2014 Annual Income Tax Return is 31 March, 2015.
The Tax Office-Kantor Pelayanan Pajak (KPP) Pratama Tigaraksa, opened a public reception for the SPT report, 2014, on 13-22 March 2015 in the SDC-Summarecon Digital Center Mall-Gading Serpong. In order to support this event, DJP-Direktorat Jenderal Pajak Kanwil Banten invited the UPH Tax Centre to become involved in the event with the help of the Accounting students. The students essentially became tax officers and served the taxpayers by assisting them in reporting their tax obligations.
Not only did the lecturers and students of UPH Accounting Department participate, but students from STAN and Universitas Media Nusantara also joined in. ?We hope that all of the students will be good tax officers who can help their future colleagues from KPP and the DJP office of Banten serve taxpayers to complete the annual tax report for 2014, for which the submission deadline will be March 31, 2015,?said Yohanes.
