Lippo Village, (18/5) – Delisma Ade Sembiring became the best graduate representing UPH Graduate Programs in UPH 15th Graduation Ceremony (16/5) with outstanding GPA 3.91. After 14 years working as a principal in Sekolah Anak Terang, Delisma decided to take UPH Master of Education program. She was one of the best graduates with GPA 3.91 who focuses her study in childhood early education.
According to her, this major is only taught at UPH Master of Education Program and that became the reason she chose UPH to continue her study.
Her final thesis discussed about inclusion school, a school for students who need more intensive care, such as limb, dumb, autistic, etc. In her opinion, inclusion school is quite different to Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB). ?At inclusion school, students who need intensive care can learn together along with the normal students.? said Delisma.
One of her student was chosen as her thesis research model. She said that finally the student felt accepted by his friends and can also make friends with other normal students. Besides that, this inclusion school has already used English for its daily teaching. In the meantime, she started the inclusion school at Sekolah Anak Terang and hoped that this school becomes role model for other schools.
When she was asked about her feeling becoming one of the best graduates, Delisma who graduated from State University of New York majoring in Management just said that she was surprised. Strong will and friends were the keys of her success. ?We can solve all problems that stand in our way if we have determination to solve it and if we have friends who support us,?? She added some tips.
