Since Sunday (21/6) to Tuesday (30/6) Indonesia?s National Rugby Team from Indonesian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) used Universitas Pelita Harapan?s (UPH) soccer field to hold training.

The team which is called the Rhinos was planned to play against rugby teams from Guam, Phillipines, and Iran on July.

According to IRFU?s General Manager, Aaron Meadows, UPH?s Soccer Field was chosen as their practice area for their good quality which is almost equivalent to Senayan?s soccer field.

On Friday (26/6), UPH?S Soccer Field was also chosen to host IRFU Rhinos 2009 Selection Trial ? a try-out for Rhinos players to determine those who will represent Indonesia?s rugby in the coming international match. England?s legendary rugby ex-player, Rory Underwood also came to help training these players.

Last year, UPH?s Soccer Field also facilitated international rugby match between Indonesia, Kamboja, and Laos. IRFU planned to initiate long term cooperation with UPH by using the soccer field to facilitate the national players training and also to host international rugby matches.
