Wednesday (2/12), UPH Rector, Jonathan L. Parapak and UPH President Sheldon C. Nord received a visit from Liu Qi, member of political bureau of the Central Committee Communist Party of China (CPC) and his group, on UPH campus, Lippo Village.
This visit specifically to see the pattern of Lippo Village development as one of the comprehensive suburbs which is highly developed in Indonesia. In addition to see educational facilities in UPH, as one important means of supporting the already existing in Lippo Village, the group also visited the Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology (MRIN).
According to Tian Jingjing, Dr. Mochtar Riady assistant, who accompanied the group, Liu Qi was very impressed with the concept of Lippo Village Township Development that is developing an independent city with educational facilities, health, shopping, offices and recreation. This concept is considered to be very precise and can achieve sustainable development.
Meanwhile, according to James T. Riady, who had received these requests too, “For about two decades we have learned much from China superior experience and we apply the experience to the business development of Lippo group in Indonesia.”
Liu Qi’s arrival into Indonesia was in the framework of a state visit. Previously Liu Qi with the group received by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the State Palace on Tuesday (1/12). (ros/cyn)
