“PESTA RAKYAT” ? 4th UPH AWARDS – In order to foster a love of Indonesian culture, UPH?s student organization is holding Pesta Rakyat (People’s Festivity) as a series of events in the 4th UPH Award. Various attractive activities are being held from March 29 to April 1, 2010, such as the Indonesian Contemporary Fashion Carnival, Jember Fashion Carnival, bazaar, various workshops (tattoos, tie dye, and sketching). This year, the nomination categories for UPH Award have increased, including the Student Executive of the Year, Student’s Scientific Paper of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Innovator of the Year. The event was attended by Mr. Sartono, the expert of Resources Development ? DPRD Banten (Banten Provincial Legislative Council) and Mrs. Endang, Head of Banten Education Department. In his speech, Sartono expressed his admiration for student activities that help preserve the Indonesian culture. One of them is Saman dance from Aceh, performed beautifully by the students. UPH Award is an award ceremony for the most outstanding students, faculty, and organizations, which is held each year at UPH. (sar)
