Happy and proud, that’s how Marcell Chandrawinata felt. The reason was because he has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universitas of Pelita Harapan (UPH). When being interviewed after the graduation procession, Marcell said that he was so glad to finally graduated and got his undergraduate degree. “This is a continued happiness after completing the final paper and presentation (skripsi),” he said. It didn?t end there, Marcell was proud of the results that he has achieved. Marcell said that the knowledge he got during his college years would be applied in the business that he has started recently. “I?m in a molding business in Jogja now,” he said. He feels lucky to study Industrial Engineering at UPH, because the machine that he needs for the business is only available in UPH. “The molding process is done with plastic, and the machine is only available in this campus,” he said. Besides doing business, Marcell also plans to continue his education to a master degree. “I will take international business,” he said. Marcell?s new plan would be realized in next January, since he must first completed the contract of sinetron which is being showed on one TV station -SCTV. |
The UPH 17th graduation ceremony that was held today (8/5) on Karawaci campus is graduating 907 of 920 graduates. The graduates consisted of as many as 835 undergraduate students, 79 postgraduate students and six diploma students. Establishing business and continuing studies are the most chosen options by UPH graduates, referring to a survey conducted last year by UPH CDAC (Career Development and Alumni Center) Department. At this graduation, there are 63 Bachelors of Nursing the first batch, which joined the extension program, a cooperation of UPH School of Nursing and Siloam Hospitals. Among the graduates, there are also three graduates who earned a dual degree from UPH Department of Food Technology and the University of Newcastle (UoN), Australia. (ros) |
