UPH Festival 17: BCI-Edge All Ready to Appear in UPH Festival 17

Basketball Club International (BCI) – Edge from United States will compete with the well known Indonesian and UPH basketball teams in UPH Festival 17.

The 11 members of BCI-EDGE consisted of 9 players and 2 coaches arrived at UPH campus on Wednesday, 4 August 2010 for the performance preparation. It is their first visit to Indonesia which is different to their previous trips in the form of basketball tour events to others countries such as Japan, Korea, Singapore and China.
Director of UPH Sport Department, Stephen L. Metcalfe took the chance to invite the BCI-Edge coach, Terry Layton and his team to enliven the UPH Festival by participating in NCBL Tip Off Basketball Tournament.

?Indonesian basketball teams need an excellent game to increase their quality, therefore we invited BCI-Edge to counter these teams,? he explained.

Six members of the BCI-Edge team are professional players including Tony Bobbitt who used to play in LA Lakers in 2005 while the rest are new players.

Terry Layton who has coached BCI-Edge for 30 years said that UPH has a satisfying facility to increase the performance of UPH basketball team.

The whole team members look enthusiastic during their preparation for UPH Festival. ?I play basketball because I like it. I?ve played this game since 8 years old and this is the first time I leave North California and go to Indonesia to play basketball. I want to share my experiences with the Indonesian basketball players because it seems like this game is not too appreciated here compared to other places,? said Casy Crawford who has 2.09 cm height.   

They will compete with UPH basketball team on 13 August 2010 at 4 ? 6 pm and 14 August 2010 at 7.30 ? 9.30 AM at UPH basketball court. (oas)
