Taruna Nusantara High School Field Trip in UPH

Students from Taruna Nusantara High School visited Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) on Tuesday, March 15, 2011.

UPH Rector Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc. gave a souvenir to the Principal of Taruna Nusantara High School Laksamana Pertama TNI (Purn) Ir. Djoko Sasongko.
Around 305 students in 11th grade and 40 Teachers from Taruna Nusantara High School visited Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. This event was a part of the students? field trip that was held by the well-known school for its achievement and discipline.

The group was accepted by UPH Rector Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., Director of Admission Nursari Dewi Lugito, Director of Marketing Communication Lely Sudjarwadinata, and UPH Students Relations team.

The rector expressed his impression of Taruna Nusantara?s achievement. He also mentioned the students of Taruna Nusantara High School as the future leader of the country. He also pointed out several similarities between Taruna Nusantara High School and UPH that prioritizes quality, character development, and holistic education.

One of Taruna Nusantara alumni who also alumni of Architecture department of UPH in 1998, Firmansyah, attended the event and shared his experiences studying in both institutions.

As one of the scholarship recipients from Lippo Group, he admitted that the scholarship really helped him financially. He got a grant of tuition fee and even allowance while studying in UPH.

As the best graduate from UPH, Firmansyah was offered to work in two companies? right after graduate. He is now actively involved in several organizations. He is the the Director of Healthy Lifestyle in Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB), the Chairman of the Anti-Drugs Education in Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN), and one of the founders of Yayasan Kecerdasan Anak Indonesia (YKAI).

To the students, Director of UPH Admission Nursari Dewi Lugito also explained about several UPH programs and particularly the scholarship programs. Many students asked about these programs as they were interested to it.

One of the Taruna Nusantara?s teachers, Ella, expressed her impression at the UPH, which is different from other universities in Indonesia. ?Excellent. We rarely see modern campus in Indonesia. In my opinion, UPH was built with modern concept that facilitates the students very well.?
Mazaya R. Safira, one of the students, also mentioned how she enjoyed being in UPH. ?Honestly, Universitas Pelita Harapan is really amazing,? she said.(dee)
