A non-profit organization, Project Management Institute (PMI) Indonesia Chapter has collaborated with Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) to accommodate the demand and needs of industry and education. This cooperation was marked by the MOU signing on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at UPH Graduate school, Jakarta. PMI with its vision to spread wisdom in project management sector is now expanding its scope, not only in the professional area, but also in education through ?Goes to Campus? program. UPH becomes the first university that is officially collaborated with PMI. This organization that has opened its branch in Indonesia since 1996 connects the industries? demand for a supply of qualified resources ? graduates. Therefore, PMI in collaboration with Himpunan Ahli Manajemen Konstruksi Indonesia ? HAMKI (Association of Indonesian Construction Management Specialists) provide professional practitioners to give general lectures to students, especially in UPH. This program will then be developed to be a Job Fair where industries can step in directly to look for the best resources in UPH. Prof. Dr. Manlian Ronald A. Simanjuntak, ST, MT, IAI said that PMI?s commitment was in line with the vision and mission of UPH Civil Engineering Graduate Program. ?Educational institution needs professional associates and we link these needs. This program is actually included in Tridharma of education; education and teaching, research, and community service,? said Manlian. In this event, a seminar themed ?Project Management in Construction Industry? was also held. In this seminar, there were three main topics brought by three speakers: ?Menuju Masa Depan yang Berkelanjutan? (Sustainable Future) by Ir. Asdarianto Asmoeadji; ?The Competencies in Project Management? by Moh. Ichsan Dipl. Ing., MT, PMP; and ?Introduction to PMI Indonesia Chapter & The Journey of Project Manager? by Anna Y.
