The danger of drugs misuse in Indonesia has increased in young generation, even university students. It forces us to create a prevention of the drugs misuse as soon as possible, especially for students in campus environment. To create a free drugs school or campus, a comprehensive approach must be done. It involves all the people in school area, teachers, staffs, students? parents, and the society. Badan Narkotika Nasional – BNN (National Narcotics Body) is an institution appointed by the government overcoming narcotics cooperates with Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) to hold a seminar entitled ?The Society Empowerment to Develop Free Drugs Campus Task Force? on April 19-20, 2011. |

The main purpose of this seminar is to encourage people to involve in establishing the free drugs campus. ?It corresponds the Constitution no. 35 Year 2009 regarding Narcotics that discusses about the society participations. Right now what we do is encourage and empower the campus society to get involved in developing free drugs campus,? explained Ir. Sri Haryati, Msi., the Head of Subdivision of Society Empowerment in Education Environment. |
The seminar featured some sources, such as Drs. Yudi Kusmayadi, BS, MSPH, Sekjen Korpri BNN, Kombes Pol M. S. Pakpahan, S.H, M.H., and Kuswardani, S.Apt., Head of Drugs Test Laboratory at BNN.
As the follow up of the seminar, the participants were expected to form small group that would be used to dig ideas and put it into action plan in near future. This would be used as a suggestion from university to BNN in order to form Free Drugs Campus Task Force. The event started from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Building F, UPH was attended by 30 participants including lecturers, students, and six representatives from Institut Teknologi Indonesia (ITI) Serpong.
