Students often feel that studying is boring and just an obligation. It happens because many teachers do not explore the potential of their students, because of their limitations in the technique and materials of teaching and recognition of their students. On the other hand, sometimes the teaching profession is still considered as a job. Doing it without a soul and heart to teach is not enough for the students.
Therefore, UPH Teachers College (TC) organized EDU-FEST 2011 (Education Festival) on April 29-30, 2011. The event themed ?Education for All? was held not only for teachers but also for Elementary-Senior High School students. The purposes of this event are to develop the foundation of thought, behavior, and teaching that based on the Christian values for teachers, and then to stabilize teachers to fulfill their calling. Moreover, the purposes for the students are to embed the value that learning is fun, improve creativity and student achievement, touch all people to experience the fun of education, raise the awareness that learning should be for Indonesian nation, and to become a part of efforts to transform education in Indonesia. The event did not only feature seminar, but also workshops, competitions and exhibitions that was enthusiastically followed by teachers and students that came all the way from Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Cikarang. There were 56 elementary school students, 110 junior high school students, and 50 senior high school students that participated in this event (pty). UPH Media Relations |
