PT Sun Life Financial Indonesia, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), and the Institute of Applied Financial Planning (IAFP), on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, signed an MoU agreeing to provide the Registered Financial Planner (RFP) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) professional designation programs for Sun Life agents at the UPH Graduate Campus, Plaza Semanggi, Jakarta. With this collaboration, UPH is committed to provide education and improve the quality of insurance industry practitioners.

With certified professional education programs, Sun Life insurance agents will be able to serve the needs of the customers who are seeking financial planning. ?We insist all of our agents be trained properly, and we need help from UPH and IAFP,? said Bert Paterson, President Director of Sun Life.

This is the first three-tiered MoU for UPH. “The cooperation is between the university, industry, and professional associations. I?d like this cooperation to be a model, to be a blessing for this country. I?m looking forward to the actual work,” said Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., UPH Rector.

The Sun Life insurance agents will receive instruction from highly qualified UPH lecturers. This cooperation is the start of Sun Life?s preparation to face the challenges and opportunities in ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) in 2015. (dee)
