?The Role and Function of KPK in Creating a Corruption Free Indonesia? Seminar

Alumni Association (IKANI) from Faculty of Law, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) presented a seminar entitled “Peran dan Fungsi KPK dalam Mewujudkan Indonesia yang Bebas Korupsi – Role and Function of KPK in Creating a Corruption-Free Indonesia ” on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 15.30 in Building D 501, UPH Karawaci. The event was held to commemorate the 15th anniversary of UPH Law faculty. This event invited the Chairman of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) M. Busyro Muqoddas, SH, M. Hum. as the keynote speaker. Approximately 100 participants attended the event.

In this seminar, Muqoddas explained the various patterns of corruption in Indonesia, from the variety up to the institutions that have the potentials to corrupt, “Recently, the process of corruption investigation has not only been done at the national level. We are also investigating the ten governors now. Today, corruption is not only happened on the APBN level, but also on the APBD level.” He also illustrated the efforts made by KPK in prosecuting the corruption not only involving the KPK members, but also the police and the community.

After the seminar, the event was continued with break fasting with Muqoddas, UPH Law lecturers, alumni, and students at D503, UPH Karawaci. (bs)
