UPH Grants Graduate Scholarships to the Winners of Putra Putri Batik Nusantara 2012

As a support to the preservation effort of batik, as an Indonesian culture product, that has been announced as the world cultural heritage by UNESCO, UPH participated in the selection of Putra Putri Batik Nusantara (PPPBN) 2012.

As a support to the preservation effort of batik, as an Indonesian culture product, that has been announced as the world cultural heritage by UNESCO, UPH participated in the selection of Putra Putri Batik Nusantara (PPPBN) 2012 on October 2, 2012 at Balai Kartini, Jakarta.

 

The event was the right opportunity to develop the youth’s love and pride of Indonesia?s cultural heritage. Tantie Koestantia as the Head of Committee of PPBN 2012 in her speech said that the winners would hopefully be the ambassadors of batik in both national and international event. Therefore, it was compulsory for the winners to have good knowledge and insight, high intelligence, and talent in arts.

 

For the purpose of increasing academic knowledge of Putra Putri Batik Nusantara 2012 winners, UPH granted full scholarships to study in UPH Graduate School. The first winners were Muhammad Ihsan Pribadi from DKI Jakarta and Indah Anggani from Bandung. Other winners were also granted admission fee. (rh)
