Times Bookstore has officially changed its name into Books & Beyond. This new name was launched on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Universitas Pelita Harapan. This bookstore has supported UPH students’ books since it was first established in 2008. Since then, the store has developed 27 retails in all over Indonesia.

Monica Lembong, CEO of Book&Beyond, explained why the store changed its name. “Books & Beyond is the result of experts’ test in Times Singapore in operational activity and product knowledge. Thus, we can independently grow and develop various kinds of business opportunities in Indonesia. In Books & Beyond, we also have coffee shop and telecommunication product stores,” she explained.

UPH Rector Jonathan L. Parapak congratulated Book&Beyond in being independent. He said that it was also an honor for UPH. “Books & Beyond is one of fhe most important parts of UPH. We are proud to have Times Bookstores because it is the best bookstores in Indonesia. The first impression of people coming to UPH is the bookstores. Books & Beyond will become the heart of the university and it will also help the students to get their textbooks,” he proudly told.

The ceremony was attended by approximately 50 people and media. The event also invited Mochtar Riady, Nina Akbar Tandjung, Puri Hadiprana, Acid Syamsuri, Clara Ng, Agung Laksono, and several VIP guests. (tna)
