In the meeting they discussed the possibilities of academic coopertation, Jonathan L. Parapak conveyed the developing programs in UPH, such as the plan to collaborate Faculty of Law, Business School, and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. Related to the plan and and to improve the quality of a good program, UPH is being very selective in choosing its partner university.

Responding Mr. Parapak, John Riady, in his capacity as the Associate Director of the three faculties said that UPH was thinking hard to improve and make their faculties more relevant. ?We want to create lawyers understand finance, businessman understand politics, and also having what they called zoom-in zoom-out capacity things.? he said. He wished that the students could have the global perspective. They can communicate, dialogue, and compete with students from other countries.

In the meeting, Prof. Pat. Walsh also mentioned their Ph.D program cooperation could grant full scholarship for students from Indonesia. He invited the academic staffs of UPH to use this opportunity as one of the possibilities of academic cooperation between the universities. (jjs)
