UPH Visual Communication Design Student Attained the First Winner in the Poster Design and Slogan Contest by BNN

With the DKI Jakarta 486 Birthday Celebration coincided with Hari Anti Narkoba Internasional (HANI)* 2013, which happened on June 26 2013, Badan Narkotika Nasional Provinsi (BNN)** DKI Jakarta held the Poster and Slogan Design Contest. The competition that was held on Saturday, June 22 2013, took place at Pusat Pemberdayaan Pemuda dan Olahraga Nasional (PP-PON) Gedung Soegondo Djojopoesptio, East Jakarta. Entitled ?Discotheque and Drugs?, many participants from all over Indonesia joined in this contest. Since this competition was open to public, whether students or professional graphics designer, everyone could participate to compete.

From 421 works that were selected and received by BNN, Vincent Caesar Jansius Luhur, Visual Communication Design 2011 Student, succeeded in attaining the highest award in both categories in the contest: poster design and slogan creation. Vincent won both of the categories with one theme; ?Enaknye Sesaat, Nyeselnya Ampe Akhir Hayat? (Enjoying for A Brief Moment, Regretting ?til Death). Both of his poster and slogan used the Betawinese accent where it was one of the criteria and requirement for the poster design and slogan creation contest. The aim of this requirement is to preserve the Betawi culture.

This achievement in both of categories is a pride for Indonesia because of Vincent?s outstanding works in designing and language using in the slogan. Vincent?s works managed to become the professional judges? choice based on their expertise fields. The judges saw his design and the slogan sentence that could be used for the government?s social campaign. This award is one of the proofs that the children of this nation have many talents in theirselves.

Badan Narkotika Nasional will also use and publish Vincent?s work that won the 1^st place in their campaign to fight the danger of drugs.(ym)
