Taking place at Universitas Pelita Harapan soccer field (24/8), with remarks from UPH Festival 20 Chairman, Ir. Nursari Dewi Lugito, M.Pd. and UPH President Raymond Liu, Ph. D. marked the end of various events to welcome the new students of UPH cohort 2013.
Renowned singer Dira Sugandi and Sammy from Stand Up Comedy ? both of them are UPH alumni, Chantika Abigal and Cassia Agata ? new artists in Indonesia music world and active UPH students, and also 3 UPH lecturers? golden voice performances made the Closing Ceremony became more festive. Under Bobby A Limijaya?s arrangement and conducting, UPH Pop Orchestra accompanied all of these performers? spectacular show.

UPH Festival 20 Closing Ceremony started after new students had gathered and seated at UPH Soccer Field. At 17.00, Nursari Lugito ? UPH Festival 20 Chairman expressed her gratitude to every party that has contributed to UPH Festival 20. ?In this opportunity, UPH will also introduce, for the very first time, UPH?s mascot ? Eddy the Eagle. Who would like to meet with Eddy?? she added while introducing UPH mascot – a clown with the appearance of an eagle that has the height of a human and directly hauled from Uncle Sam.
The performers opened the ceremony by announcing the winners from all contests ? sport, science, and art ? that had been held for 4 days, from August 22 to August 24, 2013. Then, performance from Sammy ? Stand Up Comedy and a drama comedy from FaST students also entertained the new students. Mikha Tambayong (School of Law 2013) became the representatives for the news students. ?I really had a great time,? she said.
The ceremony continued with remarks and gratitude from UPH President, Raymond Liu. Raymond gave a message to the students, ?Three years is not a long time, so use it as best as you can.? To end his remarks, Raymond Liu rang the gong ? a mark that officially closed UPH Festival 20. (ym)
