On 27th September 2014, UPH will celebrate the 20th diesnatalis. The theme chosen for this year is Telling His Story, taken from Psalm 78:4. Connie Rasilim, Vice President of Academic?s Affairs, as the initiator of the theme said that the year 2014 will be the year to tell the stories of God?s work through UPH, because that is the history.
?We divided the stories into three parts, the past, the present, and the future. The first part, the past, is God?s promise that has been fulfilled through the journey of UPH. The second part is the present, which is the proof of His promises fulfillment in UPH. And the third is the future, which is UPH?s commitment that will be fulfilled in the future; So that every UPH?s community can understand and elevate the preeminent of the Lord. Because He is the Creator, the Sustainer and the Finisher of our faith,? explained Connie at the inauguration of the seven pillars of UPH Story along UPH park, Friday 16 May 2014.
The story of UPH will be delivered to UPH community through the seven pillars of UPH Story. The seven pillars are divided according to the periods of UPH?s journey: starting from 1994-1997, 1998-2000, 2001-2003, 2004-2006, 2007-2009, 2010-2011, and 2012-2013. ?From every period, there is a message to be conveyed to everyone who passes by UPH park. Through this story we want everyone who walks pass in the park will not only see photographs but also can get deep meaning on God?s promises and guidance,? said Ellya K. Wibowo, Dean of School of Design (SoD) UPH that was appointed as the coordinator of the seven pillars of UPH Story.
According to Ellya, the seven pillars tell the story starting from the forerunner of UPH?s building, the venue of the first lecture, the development of the facilities, the increasing of faculties and the number of students, and the achievements. ?If you pay attention, you can see the journey from those photos. Even though it?s short, we hope that every faculty may remember the 20 years of UPH journey by looking at these pillars,? he added.
The committees of diesnatalis simultaneously socialize this theme ?Telling His Story? to all students and the public. They did it by making several programs such as Dean?s Talk program, which introduced UPH?s faculties to the public, community service programs, and parents gathering with UPH founder program, so that UPH will be widely known and accepted in the society. ?Telling His Story? will also be the central theme of all the big events of UPH like the graduation, UPH Festival and Christmas celebration.
