UPH Festival 21: Introduction to UPH VP Roles

On the first day of UPH orientation, the new students get their opportunity to see the structural position of UPH family. With this, the new students will enjoy some performance and also listen to some speech from important figures that had put their effort to bring UPH ahead in the society.

Jonathan L Parapak opened UPH Festival 21

At first, Jonathan L. Parapak, UPH Rector opened the orientation with sharing his life story until he works at UPH until now. He shared that he comes from outside Java, and live in the suburb of Indonesia. He is grateful to God because without Him, he will never be the person he is now. ?I had the opportunity to study in Australia, and had become the director of Indosat. I never even thought to be a rector. But, with God grace, I decided to work at UPH since 15 years ago. Today I personally welcome all 3500 students to join the big family,? shared Jonathan.

Then he also introduced the senior management of Universitas Pelita Harapan that have already give such big effort to expand UPH to be until now and has maintain the quality of it education to better such as Raymond Liu ( President of UPH), Connie Rasilim ( Vice President of Academic affairs), Ainon Manan   ( Vice President of Finance and Administration), and Budi Legowo ( Vice President of Marketing, Relationshop, and Development).

Each of the senior management had explain their roles and experience in UPH. This senior managements are the people that will be responsible with making all students life to proceed smoothly and safe including to handle security, marketing, finance, international, and educational affairs. They all here because they wanted to help the students to be a better person. To make it clearer for the new students, they had also provide a video profile for them to see. Even they had the opportunity to see each of the lecturers in real person.

Raymond Liu (President) shared his personal story in “Introduction of VP Role” session

Raymond Liu even shared his personal stories that he finally decided to resign from his high position as an executive to dedicate his talent in UPH to accept God?s calling for him. ?I wish you?re not only seeking for higher education but also able to think deeper, and widely so you can receive the higher calling in your lives,? said Raymond.

With this introduction session, UPH expected the new students to be able to know and to blend in together with each person in the family so therefore they also understand that UPH has only one intention which is to serve the students to be better and to be successful in their study and later in their career world.
