UPH Food Technology ? UoN Dual Degree Program Graduation

Along with UPH Graduation XXVI on November 22, 2014, graduation procession for UPH Food Technology – University of Newcastle (UoN) Australia Dual Degree Program was also held.

 Iwa, Veliana Lim, Yunita Kusuma Dewi, Raymond Liu, Presiden UPH, Dr. Benjamin Das Combe, Felicia Putri, Felincia Kurniawan and Chiara Wijaya.

 

Along with UPH Graduation XXVI on November 22, 2014, graduation procession for UPH Food Technology – University of Newcastle (UoN) Australia Dual Degree Program was also held. There were six graduates in this procession, namely: Iwa, Veliana Lim, Yunita Kusuma Dewi, Felicia Putri, Felincia Kurniawan and Chiara Wijaya.

 

Dean of FaST, Prof. Dr. Manlian Ronald A. Simanjuntak, stated that he was very grateful to be able to have 6 graduates from the UPH Food Technology ? UoN Dual Degree program. “They are not only academically excellent but they also have a good character. This is proved during their studies in UoN,” he said.

 

The same thing was also admitted by Dr. Benjamin Das Combe, Senior Lecture School of Environmental and Life Sciences, University of Newcastle, Australia, who came specially to inaugurate six graduates of the dual degree program. “UPH students at UoN were very wonderful. They could keep up with the lectures and the grades they obtained were not inferior to students from other countries. In the social life, they showed very good social skills. They could build an international culture,? he said.

 

According to Benjamin, UPH has prepared their students very well since their knowledge basics are very strong. Thus, during their studies at UoN, they did not face any trouble at all.

A great pride was also expressed by the President of UPH, Raymond Liu, during the inauguration of the dual degree program graduates. UPH has been cooperating with UoN for 8 years and has successfully produced several qualified graduates. In the future, UPH will enhance its relationship and cooperation with overseas partner universities with the presence of Budi Legowo, Vice President of Corporate and International Cooperation. He asserted that UPH does not only prioritize knowledge aspects of the graduates but also their spiritual and characters.

 

On this occasion, one of the graduates of the dual degree program, Felicia Putri, stated that she was very grateful to be able to pursue and complete this dual degree program. According to her, this program does not only add and deepen her academic knowledge in the field of Food Technology but also provides many other benefits such as independent learning, ability to overcome cultural barriers, and opportunity to do networking with international colleagues. “Although the first month was hard, but after undergoing this program we do not encounter any trouble at all, we even enjoy our studies at UoN. We hope that the cooperation between UPH and UoN can continue and the program can be improved. Through this dual degree, we hope to achieve a better future,” said Felicia. (rh)
