Vincent Caesar Jansius Luhur, the first winner of Visual Identity Forest Management Unit (KPH) received a prize from Minister of Environment and Foresty, Republic of Indonesia

 

 

The logo design of Vincent Caesar Jansius Luhur, UPH Visual Communication Design UPH student cohort 2011 was chosen as The Best Design on ?Forest Management Unit? Visual Identity Design Contest which was held by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry partnered with GIZ Deutsche Gesellschaft f?r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

 

 

Vincent?s design was chosen out of 250 selected designs from the students and professionals that had been qualified by the judges through several selection and evaluation rounds. This competition was announced on 15 April 2015 by the local and international judges which were from Germany, Ministry of Environment and Forestry Republic of Indonesia and GIZ Deutsche Gesellschaft f?r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Gmb, assisted by the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, M.Sc.

The Minister also selected Vincent Caesar Jansius Luhur design as the visual identity of Indonesia Forest Management Unit and was exhibited on the IndoGreen Forestry Expo 2015 in Jakarta Convention Centre.

 

 

The evaluation criteria was based on various aspects, such as originality, applications on any media, relevance with the vision, mission, and philosophy of KPH and other aesthetics aspects. According to the judges, Vincent?s design was fulfilled the entire criteria. Every visual element, in the form and colors had very strong meanings as well as fixed concept so the KPH logo design of Vincent also had an applicable construction system to the KPH needs which in fact are located around Indonesia.

The representative of KPH Public Relation also gave appraisal to Vincent?s design and stated that the main factor of Vincent?s winning was the concepts mastery that was supported by enormous knowledge of agriculture, forestry, and other related fields. Moreover, the judges acknowledged that Vincent?s design could certainly compete with the designs by professionals. (rh)
