On September 29, 2015, UPH welcomed the arrival of students from SMA Marsudirini Bogor for the Open House that was held by UPH Marketing Team at the MYC Multipurpose Room. This event was created to introduce students about UPH and college world in general. About 87 participants, who are 10th grade with four teachers, attended the Open House.

This time, UPH Open House introduced more about the Electrical Engineering major. The series of event in this Open House covered an interest-aptitude test, a presentation about UPH represented by a staff from UPH Admission Marketing, a presentation about Electrical Engineering major, brought by Dr. Ir. Henri P. Uranus MT., Head of Electrical Engineering department and continued with a tour to the Electrical Engineering Lab. Right after the interest-aptitude test and presentations from UPH, students were divided into two groups; one group would follow another presentation while the other would be invited to a tour around the Electrical Engineering Lab.

In his presentation, Dr. Henri said that the Electrical Engineering major is a subject where we learn how to manipulate electrons so that they can be useful for our daily life, ?for example, the mind of hand phone, the mind of computer, the electron substance inside those things are the work of Electrical Engineering people,? said Dr. Henri. He also stated that in UPH Electrical Engineering major, students aren?t just expected to master Electrical Engineering and contribute for the industrial development of Indonesia, but they are also expected to have a good character which is in line with the vision and mission of UPH. Aside from that, there are only three University which has an A accreditation for their Electrical Engineering major and one of them is the Electrical Engineering major of UPH.

At the same time, the tour around the Electrical Engineering lab gave a whole new experience for the students. In the Electrical Engineering lab, there are numerous interesting works of UPH Electrical Engineering students, such as the line follower, a robotic hand which can imitate human?s movement and many other works. Because it was very interesting, many students wanted to stay longer at the Electrical Engineering lab and see how those machines work and how to make them.

At the end of the event, the teachers from SMA Marsudirini gave a souvenir as a memento to the Marketing team of UPH as a form of gratitude for welcoming and serving SMA Marsudirini during this Open House event.

?I think this event is really great and interesting, the machines and robots are really cool! I?m considering UPH as a choice for my future, but probably I will choose the Management major. But for me, I think the Electrical Engineering major is also interesting.?? Adelard, 10th-grade student of SMA Marsudirini. (FC/MV)
