UPH Welcomed Takalar Governor Visit along with Takalar District?s Paskibraka Team

On November 6, 2015, UPH welcomed the visit from Takalar?s Governor, South Sulawesi, BurhanuddinBaharuddin, along with several DPRD members from Takalar, students from the Paskibraka team and several assistant teachers from Takalar district. The purpose of this visit is to build a new relationship and to give more information about UPH.

 

The arrival of Takalar?s Governor was greeted by UPH Rectors, such as Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. ParapakM.Eng.Sc., UPH Rector, Raymond Liu, Ph.D., the President of UPH, Connie Rasilim S.S., B.Ed., M.Pd.,Vice Rector of Academic, Budi Legowo, Vice Rector in Marketing for External Relations and Business Development, as well as Budi Yuwono, Special Assistant for Rector.

 

In the welcoming speech from Rector to all participants, he shared his experience as a son from Sout Sulawesi. ?I was a villager with many restriction, but with hard work and by God?s grace, I was trusted to be a leader of numerous companies and National and even International Organizations. Because of that, I wanted to say to all Takalar?s young people who are present here, never feel like you?re too small, or to low. I?ve proved that a usual villager like me could be just as high as other people, even up to the international level. You people now, are way better in terms of education, so you all must be greater than all of us now,? explained the Rector

The rector also wanted to explain about the education system in UPH which emphasize holistic education with its vision and mission, True Knowledge, Faith in Christ and Godly Character, which means that UPH doesn?t only teach students to master earthly knowledge, but also to build the right character.

The event was followed by a suave session in the Rector Office at the 9th floor of the A Building, while students joined a presentation session for an introduction to the study programs at UPH, the campus life and it was closed with a campus tour. In the occasion, towards the Governor and its group, the Rector explained the scholarship program in UPH, especially for Teachers College and Nursing Program, as well as the procedures involved in those two programs. After that, the Governor and team followed a campus tour and a photo session.(fc)
