Upon celebrating the 71st Anniversary of Indonesia, Heartline Radio held ?Coffee Morning? on August 16, 2016 with the theme entitled ?Honoring the Country?.  For this event, Heartline Radio invited three key speakers they are, Calvin Khoe, a 2014 International Relation students of UPH, Djoko Kurniawan, a Senior Business Consultant and Tutu Sukendro, UPH Choir Instructor and Conductor. Like always, Heartline Coffee Morning is aired every Tuesday on 08.00 ? 10.00 at the Maxx Coffee Benton Junction, Lippo Karawaci.

This was the second time for UPH to participate in Heartline Radio?s talk show, after Lorensia Soegiarto, the Marketing Director & Admission of UPH, who had previously been invited as a guest.

In the moment of Indonesia?s Independence Day, Jose Marwan and Riama Silitonga, the hosts of the show, wanted to share the stories and experiences of the key speakers about what they have done for this country from their own fields and perspectives.

Calvin Khoe, a student of UPH who had just received an award for Verbal Commendation at the HNMUN, an international event held by the United Nations (UN) in Boston, conveyed his opinion about the role of university students in honoring the country.

?I think it?s very simple, for me to be an impactful individual for Indonesia, we just need the right faith and a dream. My dream is to be a diplomat and I have had that dream since I was in elementary school. This dream let me know what I want to become in the future. This dream also leads me to various competitions and conference, with HNMUN as one of them. Without a clear goal, I would probably not be where I am today, while keep on trying to be a proficient Human Resources for Indonesia,? Calvin stated.

Even more than that, Calvin also said that the young generation really needs to have a dream, a goal to be achieved and not to forget, they have to be impactful to their society. As a student, Calvin said that the young generation has to have a problem solver attitude and they should not be ?allergic? to politics in this country, because all the movements in Indonesia could not be separated from political dynamics.

Continuing the Talk Show, Tutu Sukendro also shared his experience in assisting UPH Choir in competitions, both national and international, such as the one in Philippines and Beijing.

?To build one?s mentality, we need several things. Firstly, the singing technique that they need to perform the songs for the competition, secondly, the discipline aspect, especially in terms of attendance during practices sessions and in their focus. Lastly, they has to have a great behavior and attitude,? explained Tutu, who is currently preparing the UPH Choir for a performance at the 23rd UPH Festival on 18 to 20 August, 2016.

To complete the Talk Show, Djoko, from his point of view as a Senior Business Consultant, also conveyed his opinion. He believes that we should not be concerned about big corporations which already spread it wings to other countries. But in reality, the micro, small and middle businesses (UMKM) also contributes to encourage people, outside and inside of Indonesia to choose Indonesian products. This is what we have to support, so that Indonesia could be known through its product not from the negative issues.

This lively Talk Show lasted for two hours and was hoped to be inspiring for the listeners so that they can be motivated to think about what they can do to bring honor to this country of ours. (mt)
