The 23rd UPH Festival: UPH Eagles Outranked the NUS Basketball Team with 68-60 on the International Basketball Exhibition

To end the 23rd UPH Festival, the Sport Departments of Universitas Pelita Harapan held an ?Internasional Basketball Exhibition? between the Male Eagles National Basketball Team against the National Basketball team of the National University of Singapore

NUS and Eagles UPH were getting ready before the Games 

 

To end the 23rd UPH Festival, the Sport Departments of Universitas Pelita Harapan held an ?Internasional Basketball Exhibition? between the Male Eagles National Basketball Team against the National Basketball team of the National University of Singapore (NUS).

 

The game started on 19.00 WIB at UPH Basketball Court, right after the grand closing of the 23rd UPH Festival, with the Human Configuration show as well as UPH Orchestra. There was a crowd of the audience who were walking from the soccer field to the basketball court to witness the game between the two.

 

Before the game begins, all audiences and the two teams arose to sing ?Indonesia Raya?. Then, the team leaders gave the instructions for players to get ready and do some stretching. Stephen L. Metcalfe, as the Director of the Sports Department of UPH, welcomed the NUS National Basketball Team and took a photo with both teams. Then, a placard exchange was done with each team as a sign that the game is about to start.

 

There was a rousing atmosphere in the basketball court, where approximately, 500 audiences were present to cheer on the Eagles Team, hoping that the team will win against NUS. In this opportunity, the Eagles Team brought 17 players, while the NUS team, brought 12 players from Singapore.

 

On the first and second quarter, each was 10 minutes, the Eagles Team managed to lead the score above NUS. During the break time, the audiences were entertained with games from the MC, such as who can shoot the most basketball to the ring will get a price. Audiences seem to be very enthusiastic, seen from the number of participants in this game.

 

The game ended on 20.30 WIB, after the third and fourth quarters, the Eagles Team of UPH had won with 68-60 against NUS. This achievement received a great welcome and it certainly made the Eagles team of UPH proud. (fj)
