For the first time, Universitas Pelita Harapan Business School held Business Leader Speaker Series that held not only for students but also for senior school, teachers, and parents. About 2.500 invited guests attended the first Business Leader Speaker series held in Grand Chapel UPH Karawaci, Lippo Village, Tangerang, November 17, 2016 presenting Dr. (HC) Mochtar Riady Founder of Lippo Group as the keynote speaker.
Niel Nielson as the Acting Dean Business School said that the purpose of this event is to bring Business School students to understand business field directly through the good model. Through the inspiration given, the students are challenged to follow the tips for success from business leaders in the future. The parents are also expected to inspire by knowing the business field, so that for the parents whose children are enrolled in UPH and will consider to enroll in UPH could feel confident. Besides that, parents who attend also prepared with Parents Gathering led by Niel Nielson. The teachers also expected to broaden their knowledge, and prepared with coaching and mentoring session with senior lecturers from Business School.
?From the whole event, I hope that all of us could give more attention for business education, so that the students, teachers, and parents have the understanding and big hope for the opportunity in business field. More than that is how to touch other?s life, and able to build relation between one another, so that at the end we will be able to give the solution that brings good?, said Niel.
The first Business Leader series presents Mochtar Riady to give the inspiration. He delivers the message so that people could realize the changes and could be able to survive in business field. He warned that only those who prioritize education could realize the changes, especially the changes in technology as what happening now.
In total, there are approximately 2.500 participants consisted of 1.500 Business School students from three batches (2014, 2015, 2016), High School Students and Vocation students from various areas, teachers from national school, national plus, or even international school for about 67 participants, and parents both of the active students or of high school students.
Along with this event, for the high school students also provided the Business Talent Exploration competition, where 12 teams form high school explore Mauk area in November 16, 2016 related to livestock industry, cultivation of green muscles, and the coastal area to find the solution and the changes for those industries which are represented after all of the Business Leader Speaker series finished. Besides the activities for the students, there are also activities for the parents to talk directly with Niel Nielson as the Acting Dean Business School, and Coaching and Mentoring session for teachers with the senior lecturers from Business School.
