A Solo Piano Recital which was brought by Amelia Santoso, became the opening for the 2017 Conservatory of Music (CoM) UPH Concert Series, which was held at the 5th floor of D Building Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) Karawaci on January 14, 2017. Amelia Santoso is a Classic Piano lecturer in CoM UPH, had received her degree on Master of Classical Piano Performance from Institut Sup?rieur de Musique et de P?dagogie, Belgium (2011-2013). Previously on 2009-2011, she had also received her degree on Master of Classical Piano Performance from Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Rotterdam. During her time in Holland, Amelia was active as the assistant of professor St?phane De May at Codarts. Thus, her skillfulness in piano is undoubtedly stunning. In this recital, Amelia brought three pieces which were composed by a French composer, Maurice Ravel. She would like the audience to hear the language of 1900?s French music, when Ravel was one of the most influential composers at the time. This event was Amelia?s first solo concert after she came back from Holland and she is very enthusiastic upon the thought of teaching one semester in CoM UPH. Amelia?s performance has left all the audience amazed. There were approximately 100 audiences, which includes lecturers and other CoM members, CoM students as well as students from other faculties. All guests seemed to be very enthusiastic upon listening to Amelia?s performance. And not to forget, with the help of all staffs and students, the show was organized very neatly and it went very well. CoM UPH Concert Series will be held every month during this year and after Amelia Santoso, the Concert Series will be continued on February 18, 2017 with Christina Mandasari, a lecturer in CoM UPH. The Concert Series is open for public and anyone who has an interest towards music. Hopefully, this concert could become a place where musicians of CoM UPH can express their talent and interests towards music and also as an introduction to CoM UPH Music Education program for the people, especially prospective students.
