As a responsibility for research grants disbursed by the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education in 2016, the Center for Research and Community Developmentof Universitas Pelita Harapan (LPPM-UPH) held a faculty research seminar. During the event, other researchers from Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) and Swiss German University (SGU) also presented their researches. There were 15 research results and various outcomes, presented by the lecturers, such as lists of scientific publication, mock-ups, product samples as well as posters. The event took place at MYC Building, UPH, on February 7, 2017.
At the same occasion, UPH Rector, Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng. Sc., also conveyed his appreciation towards the management of this event and welcomed the guests from UMN and SGU.

?We have to encourage the culture of research in our own university and leaders have to be attentive regarding this matter. I really hope that in the future, more research results could be disseminated. Hopefully, the relation which exists between Research-Technology and Higher Education could increase the amount of research in university, so that more research could be done and more thesis could be developed into prototypes,? said the Rector.

He also convey his appreciation towards lecturers who had done research, and he also set them as an example for other people, because knowing that as a lecturer, they must have a very tight schedule, but in between their time, they still concern themselves in doing research.
?Moreover, I also hope that we can improve the quality of our researches and more lecturers could be involved and thus, encourage the others. At the end, I really hope that the researches could promote institutional accreditation. Hopefully, the synergy between UPH, UMN and SGU will keep improving and thus, benefit each institution and the faculty,? the Rector added.
The event then continued with a parallel presentation for each research results, which was divided into three groups: as reviewers for group I were Dr. Adolf JN Parhusip (Food Technology UPH) and Prof. dr. Wahyuni L. Atmodjo, Ph.D (Faculty of Medicine UPH); as reviewers for group II were Prof. Dr. Ing. Harianto Hardjasaputra (Civil Engineering UPH) and Dr. Maulana (SGU); and as reviewers for group III were Dr. Hananto (Faculty of Liberal Arts UPH) and Dr. Eng. Ir. Pujianto Yugopuspito, M.Sc. (SISTech UPH).

Eric Jobiliong, Ph.D., Director of Center for Research and Community Development of UPH, as the committee of this seminar hopes that this event could become an encouragement and inspiration for other lecturers to do more research. His hopes goes for both lecturers in UPH and also for partnering universities such as UMN dan SGU, who have been collaborating with UPH in Community Service Programs (PKM). Lastly, he also announced a collaborative community service program which will be held by the three universities, it is the 3rd CSR PKM, which will be held in Solo. (rh)
