UPH Accounting Team Won the 2nd Prize in National Accounting Olympiad ‘Unity Accounting Battle 2017’

Accounting Team, Business School of Universitas Pelita Harapan, once again achieved an academic achievement as the 2nd Winner at the National Accounting Olympiad in the event of ‘Unity Accounting Battle 2017’ on 25-27 September 2017. This event held on the second time by Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Bogor Unity with the “Battleground of The Finest” theme, sponsored by the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia-IAI) and Public Accounting Firm Big Four Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC).

A total of 40 teams from various universities took part in this competition, such as  Gadjah Mada University, University of Indonesia, Atmajaya University, PKN STAN, Widyatama University, Tarumanagara University, and other universities.

The UPH Accounting Team is the third-year student consisting of Alexander Dylan, Calvina, and Heidy Natalia Kindy. They made it through several selection stages, starts from the online preliminary round on September 16, 2017. Continue to the main round stage, consisting of several series of events for the selection to the 12 teams qualifications. On the second stage elimination, both UPH teams entered the top 8 and made it to the big 4. In the next stage, UPH team made it to the Grand Final along with Brawijaya University, Tarumanagara University A and Tarumanagara University B. At the Grand finale, 4 teams passed the accounting debate with the debate motion “Although simple, SAK EMKM can provide reliable information in the presentation of the financial statements”.

The final result set the 1st place was achieved by Universitas Brawijayas, UPH won the 2nd prize, the 3rd place was occupied by UNTAR A team, while UNTAR B team got the fourth place. The winners were entitled to the prizes and trophies. (rh)
