Hendra Thamrindinata explained The Faculty of Liberal Arts to UPJ Team

This point above are uniqueness of Liberal Arts Faculty UPH, which in all the courses, were taught and understanding the coherency of Reformed Theology, and integrated in all courses. That?s why FLA emphasis courses like Religion, Comparative Religion, and Theology 1, 2, and 3, not only to deepen the students insight on faith but more to cultivate a particular Christian world view, which are hollistic, coherence, and comprehensive. Therefore, all courses like Civics, Leadership, Character Development, Ethics, and even English, and Bahasa will be teach from the perspectives of Christian world view.? explained Hendra

In respond to the question about the non-Christian students taking Liberal Arts courses, Hendra explained that each universities has an unique vision and mission. UPH has commit to based their academic foundation on Christian worldview as UPH indentity. This affirmation does not mean that UPH discriminate other religions, but instead to uphold their direction and stability in the middle of globalisation that happen now. The position is like an achor that stick a university above the firm foundation. However, Christian worldview is a comprehensive and a very broad worldview, which able every Christian to think open mindedly, but at the same time critically. Common grace concept does not ignore the inevitablility of Antithetis reality which rooted from Reformed thought, therefore FLA will able to see God?s wisdom in the philosophy of non-Christian without forgetting the fall of man in sin and the significance of the redemption that Christ had started.

With the exsistence of FLA, UPH graduates the alumni who understand Christian worldview, and are able to comprehend the knowledge well, consider evidences carefully, understand issues deeply, criticize certain paradigm, standardize values consideration, have historical sensitivity, formulate rational purposes, plan in details, and passionate for the truth.

By the end of the meeting, Gita, as the representative of UPJ gave away their souvenirs to Hendra, representing FLA. At last, the visit was continued by group photo and also campus tour.
