In order to bridge the educational world and the industries, UPH extends its wings through collaboration with industrial partners in IT and retails. Matita; Chief Human Capital Officer of PT Cyberindo Aditama, Dita Pangestiati; Director of PT Solusi E-commerce Global Andrew John Kandolha;  and Director of PT MetrodataElectronics Tbk., Aditya Y . Soejoediman; after the MoU signing.

Director of PT MetrodataElectronics Tbk. Aditya Y. Soejoediman conveyed his enthusiasm towards this collaboration.

?Right now, we need qualified candidates. Thus, we figure that if UPH students are able to do internship program in our company, it will be a great opportunity for us to equip them with experiences, especially for them who might have great interest to build their career in Metrodata,? said Aditya.

?I want to change the mindset of these students, so when they graduated as a bachelor in IT, they would not just become a regular programmer. Hence, during the internship later, we will teach them about process business, and other applicative fields, so that they will have an even wider knowledge. Because in fact, there are many kinds of things to explore in the IT field, such as hardware, software, application, infrastructure and many more. They will know it when they have done the internship. We also hope that UPH students who will become our interns will come with new ideas. We are kind of aggressive when it comes to recruiting graduates from great universities such as UPH, to join Metrodata,? he added.

Optimism towards this collaboration was also conveyed by the representative of CBN, a data communication service provider, and information technology (IT) solutions. Through this collaboration, CBN hopes to work together with UPH, not just in an internship, but also recruitments, research, and business start-ups. Right now, CBN has worked with more than 100 universities from various cities in Indonesia and some overseas universities. CBN has a special division that deals with the internship program and periodically, there have always been students doing internships. Each department has been coordinated to provide opportunities for internship students.

?We have a brand new division that works on start-up business. Aside from that, we also provide funds to support great start-up business ideas. We even turn this into a competition at some point, so that these students could also contribute with their ideas. We choose this method in order to facilitate the potentials and creativity of the millennials. Hence, when they are undergoing the internship program, they will be more enthusiastic and less bored. We also make a competition their business proposal and the best ones will be presented in front of our CEO. Later on, the chosen one will be supported to realize their business ideas,? Aditama Dita Pangestiati, Chief Human Capital Officer of PT Cyberindo explained.

A variety of other special programs is also provided by CBN in order to motivate internship students. Such as award for the best internship student and a green card gift for the best internship students to join CBN without a test.  Through this program, CBN hopes that they can prepare these students to think broadly and to explore their interests and abilities in IT.

With the addition of UPH industrial partners, through the Alumni and Corporate Relations Department, UPH is determined to expand this collaboration through socializations, especially for last-year students and UPH alumni, on the available opportunities in partnering companies; and we also facilitate students with programs that draw companies and the university closer, such as seminars, training and surveys.
