UPH Faculty of Law Awards for Lecturer, Student, Alumni and Alumni User On the 20th Dies Natalis

The success of the Universitas Pelita Harapan Faculty of Law in its 20th Dies Natalis could not be separated from the support from various parties. This message was conveyed during the 20th Dies Natalis of UPH Faculty of Law, Thursday, September 29, 2016.

The success of the Universitas Pelita Harapan Faculty of Law  up until its 20th Dies Natalis is not separated from the support of various parties. This message was conveyed during the celebration of the 20th Dies Natalis of UPH Faculty of Law, Thursday, September 29, 2016, on the awards ceremony for lecturer, student, alumni and alumni user.

 

The award for the Best Lecturer went to Dr. jur. Udin Silalahi, SH., LLM. The award for the best student went to Nadya Mulya, Law 2013. The award for the best alumni went to Jessica V. Marpaung, SH., LLM., and Cindy Riswantyo, SH., LLM. And lastly, the award for the best alumni user goes to Hadiputranto, Hadinoto, &  Partner (HHP) Law Firm.

 

As a representative for the alumni, Cindy, Law 2002, shared her experience in dealing with competition during her first time entering a workplace. But then, Cindy admitted that all the things she have learned in the UPH Faculty of Law and the experience she had from joining Lippo Group, had provide her with a better understanding on stewardship and it has become a very useful talent for her. 

 

?In working, we can?t just think about what job it is and how much money are we going to get. But, more importantly we have to understand the concept of stewardship; we have to find it, experience it and find its meaning for us. This concept had helped me to use the talent that God has given to me and optimize it,? Cindy stated.

 

Jessica continued to share her inspiring experience from UPH, the Bible verse written in front of the Building D of UPH, ?With God all things are possible?. She believes that this is a form of encouragement that she felt very helpful during her hard times in going through many struggles in college.

 

?In the UPH Faculty of Law, I was challenged to learn, be involved in organization and to join competition such as moot court. In UPH I felt really loved by the lecturers and UPH has become a faith corridor for young generation to keep on walking within the real truth. I am very happy to have been a part of UPH Faculty of Law and to congratulate its 20th Dies Natalis,? said Jessica, who will soon be joining the faculty as lecturer?s staff.

On the same occasion, Nadya Mulya as the best student also shared her experience in winning an International Moot Court competition in Washington D.C. on 2015. She wished that UPH, especially its Faculty of Law could keep growing and it existence. She also hopes that UPH will keep bringing its student to great achievements in the future.

 

Award for the Best Alumni User
The representative from Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partner (HHP) Law Firm also shared their experience regarding UPH graduates. For him, UPH graduates are amazing and they have high competence. UPH graduates are expected to be mentally prepared for work field, so that when graduate, they will have the competency to work, the mentality and the hard work.

 

After the appreciation celebration, all members of the Faculty of Law along with Dr. Mochtar Riady and wife as well as the Rector of UPH, celebrated the 20th Dies Natalis by blowing a ?20? candle on a birthday cake. After the celebration and a photo session, the 20th Dies Natalis of FH UPH has officially ended. (mt/mv)
