UPH Hosted Study Program Socialization and Scholarship Selection in Big Cities

Due to the study program socialization to high school students in various regions, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) visited several big cities including Bali on August 25-27, 2015, and on September 10-12, 2015 in 3 cities, which were Ambon, Bandung, and Surabaya. The program will continue to be held in Medan, September 19, 2015 and in Semarang, October 3, 2015.

The socialization is filled with visits to several High School students in each listed city, education expo, and scholarship interview. Specifically in Ambon, there were held a meeting of high school principals and education foundations. Grace Salim, Executive Director of UPH Business School shared about UPH vision and mission in working world and how UPH Business School prepares the students to face the international waves, and the effort to increase synergy with high schools as well. The students and parents in Ambon were very enthusiastic in participating on the event, which took place on an auditorium in one school in Ambon, with more than 250 participants. Besides faculty/department presentations, there was also a question and answer session and consultation.

Generally to the citizen in the cities visited, UPH socialized about the holistic education conducted in UPH as well as the graduates target that UPH aims to produce, that who can give impact to society. Various achievements of students and lecturers in national and international level were also presented as the evidence of UPH education achievements.

UPH provided explanation to the prospective students on the scholarship track about passion and calling, with the purpose that the students could make the right decision about faculty or department. The most important thing in providing scholarship is that UPH always emphasizes on the compatibility between potential and passion, also the motivation and plan for the future after graduate as well. This aims to confirm the readiness of the scholarship grantees in academic process and in achieve maximally.

The presence of UPH in these four big cities is expected to give as much as possible information about UPH and gives the bigger opportunity to the prospective students from various regions to experience the benefit of early bird registration.
