Traditional market is a fun and exciting place to buy things. It is a right place to get fresh daily products as well as having bargaining interaction with the sellers and buyers. This experience is indeed fascinating, specifically for the foreigners. In order to grant experiences and enrich knowledge of traditional market, International Office (IO) UPH held a market (pasar) excursion for the UPH Expat Community.
This event was held on Friday, February 27th 2015. The destination was Pasar Sinpasa located 8 km away from UPH main campus. This market was selected since the location was not that far and also has a modern concept that is clean and neatly in order. It was indeed a right place for expat to shop.
There were seven expats guided by IO UPH staffs who was also an active housewife. The guide gave new perspectives to the expats on the real shopping experience in traditional market. They got the views on how Indonesians interacted, negotiated, and also made a short conversation with the sellers when they bargained for fresh veggies, meats, or fishes. Overall, this truly was an interactive and exciting experiences as well as showing that UPH Expat Community is a part of Indonesia culture.(IO)
